We are proud to feature some of Carol's beautiful pieces of art in the studio for purchase.

Carol has a Bachelor of Music degree from the College of Creative Arts of West   Virginia University and a Master of Music Education degree from James Madison University.  An apprenticeship with Dr. Jay Kain at Shenandoah Stained Glass in Harrisonburg, Virginia, provided her training in the medium of glass.  She is a    member of the Association of Virginia Artisans.  Her home studio, Classical Glass, is located at 406 Tiffany Drive, Bridgewater, VA.  There she produces stained glass panels, lamp shades, windows, signs, kaleidoscopes and commissioned pieces.  She uses copper foil and lead came techniques in her glass creations.  She has donated artworks to WVPT Public Television, Skyline Literacy, Harrisonburg Rockingham ARC, and the Shenandoah Valley Children’s Choir.  Her glass has been exhibited at the Bach Boutique in conjunction with the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival at   Eastern Mennonite University, at OASIS Gallery in Harrisonburg, Virginia, at Crafty Hands in the Dayton Market and at BrydgeWorks Glass Studio.  She has performed as a flutist with the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival since the festival’s beginning in 1993.  Musical themes are often present in her stained glass pieces.  She tries to    incorporate her classical music training into the medium of glass.  Form, symmetry, exposition, development, recapitulation, variation, all of which are musical terms,  apply to the design of glass pieces as well.  Text from hymn tunes are rich sources of inspiration for her.  She would like her stained glass to evoke responses visually in the same way that music does aurally.  It should touch the soul.
